Accolades

As the day turns to night and the sounds start to fade,

I’ve once again earned my accolades.

The existence of being,

The drive to stay afloat…

I don’t need a campaign,

I win with one vote.

The grind of this life, the hustle and flow,

It can be one that takes you high and try’s to bring you low.

As the sun rises and the sky emits the glow,

I awake with gratitude throughout my mind, body, and soul.

My accolades represent how much time I’ve spent , walking with my head held high, and my feet off the ground,

I’m keeping it moving , ain’t no turning around.

As the sun sets, the accolades are put to rest,

They’re stored in a place that is accessible and safe.

They can be visited at any time,

Exposed to all, exposing my drive to survive.

I will forever seek to be free,

Free from contentment and resentment.

I will forever seek to be happy,

I will always remember that happiness is self made.

Happiness is my greatest accolade.
